Long-time and Forever Resident
Visiting several times each year as a child beginning in 1961, moving here for the first time in 1977, and moving back after several career relocations in 1998, I have been in our area some cumulative 39 years – permanently for the last 24. I’ve lived in various locations around Cape Coral and have watched it grow up as my 4 sons and their children grew up in our area as well. I plan on being here the rest of my life and as such, have a vested interest in the success of Cape Coral.
Time-tested Successful Leadership Experience
A review of my resume will show that I have worked hard, all my life, in several industries and have either risen to the Leader of the Organization or begun the business from scratch, built it, and successfully transitioned it. I have been responsible for departments and companies with enormous net worth and extremely large budgets – all multi-faceted. The training that I was supplied and exposed to has been world-class and I have applied sound and proven principles that universally lead to success in all my positions.
Serving Is Part of My Life Creed
Ever since I was young, it was ingrained in me and has been a mantra in my life for as long as I can remember – Work Hard, Play Hard, Give Back. My grandfather, along with my grandmother that raised me said; “Billy, you can’t just take the apples from the tree – you have to fertilize and water it too”. When my kids were young, I gave back by coaching, When I traveled with American Express, I would go into the schools and teach basic financial principles and habits to help give them a start to financial security and independence. When I learned how to SCUBA dive – I just had to teach it to others, so that they could experience the awe of the world beneath the sea, just like I did. And, for the past 11 years, I have provided leadership by serving at the Local, State, and National levels in the Real Estate Industry. In the Realtor Code of Ethics, which originated over a century ago, the opening of the preamble is: “Underneath it all – is the land”. At this stage in my life – 64 this year (with a good way to go!) – and with the honor of you voting for me, I will transition my “give back” from the Real Estate Industry at large, to our great City. No matter what the issue, or concern, underneath it all is the land, and the decisions we make regarding how to make use of that land will mean the future to all of us. I look forward to serving you and all of Cape Coral for the next four years – come election time, VOTE BILL STEINKE!
